27th March, 2024

The annual CAS CUP tournament is officially over for another year. 2024 brought back many great memories, fun times, and touch rivalries as we celebrated 20 years of the tournament. We even got to see some new faces who traveled far and wide to attend the weekend event.

Our Men’s Open’s Division saw two of our long standing teams, Kickback and 2Fresh (OG’s), compete to be crowned champions. In the end, Kickback defended their title defeating 2Fresh OG’s 7-3.

This was not 2Fresh’s only opportunity to be crowned champions. In 2Fresh’s 15th year at CAS CUP, they had all six 2Fresh teams play in grand finals this year! This is a massive achievement! In 2024, four of these six teams were crowned CAS CUP champions.

Another long- standing team for CAS CUP and City Touch Football is the Thirsty Dogs TFC who always come down for a run in the event. However, this is the first year the club entered a Master’s team into our Men’s Master’s division. This team, made up of a few old boys from the club, decided to make a ‘comeback’ for CAS CUP 2024. For the first time, this Thirsty Dogs team was crowned champions and took home the Men’s Masters division in  a grand final defeating Exploding pigeons 6 to 5.

Although we love seeing old faces return, we also enjoyed seeing some new faces in 2024! One of these new faces included the Bullfrogs who made the hefty 11 hour drive from Bathurst, NSW to attend this year’s event. Although it seems the drive was worth it as they took our the Mixed Social Bowl Grand Final in a 6 – 3 win over the Role Modelz. But don’t worry, this win was well celebrated at the official afterparty!

Thank you to all the volunteers, officials, staff, referees, teams and players for attending the 2024 CAS CUP! It was another fantastic year and we can’t wait to see you all back in 2025!
